Psy gains public favor in USA: “He is a humble yet amazing entertainer”

World wide singer Psy is receiving an explosive response in the United States.

Psy, who is currently staying in the States, is continuously appearing on local media outlets. He appears on several TV and radio programs and has had many favorable articles published about him with quotes from an interview with Scooter Braun.

During the interview, Psy said, “I’m still walking down the street like, ‘Why I’m here? Why I’m here?’ You know, I’ve done this 12 years in Korea, and I’m rookie here now. I never expect I would become a K-pop star.” He also talked about when he was attending the Berklee College of Music in Boston.

Scooter Braun said, ”He came over to the States and we started talking business and PSY said, ‘Well this is very nice, but I’d rather just take you to Koreatown tonight and drink.”

Psy’s “Gangnam Style” receives1 over two hundred million hits on YouTube

The music video of Psy’s “Gangnam Style” has received over two hundred million hits in 66 days.

As of September 18, the music video of “Gangnam Style” received over two hundred million hits on YouTube, setting a new record. On that day, Psy tweeted, “Got 200 million views! Thanks everybody!”

As of September 4, the music video received over 100,084,539 hits and became the first Korean music video that received over a hundred million hits. The record was set in only 52 days, and it was far faster than that of Justin Bieber’s “Baby (56 days)” and Beyonce’s “Single Lady (114 days).”

After 14 days, another hundred million people watched the music video, and it became a Korean music video that received two hundred million hits in a shortest period of time.

The Hallyu Research Center expects that the music video will still receive more hits. It expects that the music video will receive three hundred million hits within October and five hundred million hits within November. The music video is currently people’s favorite on YouTube.

Psy has been nominated for the Best Video at MTV Europe Music Awards with Lady Gaga, Rihanna, and Katy Perry.

The father of 2NE1’s CL publishes a book about his trip to Paris with his daughter

The father of CL (the leader of 2NE1 which is composed of Park Bom, Sandara Park, Gong Min Ji, and CL) showed off his artist talent just like his daughter.

Recently, professor Lee Ki Jin of Department of Physics in Sogang University who is also the father of CL has published a book titled Collage Paris in which he talks about his trip to Paris with his daughter in July.

In the book, professor Lee introduces himself as the father of 2NE1’s CL, a professor of Department of Physics, an author of children’s book, and a collector of many different things. Putting aside his title as a physicist, he revealed some attributes of an artist through his distinctive language and pictures and the way he reinterpret things from a new perspective.

He is also called an “author of magic” and held his own exhibition with his writings and pictures. When CL was little, he wrote a story for children titled Head-butter, Kkak-ka, which later developed into a series of Kkak-ka.

Professor Lee basically gives you hint of where CL got her artist talent from. Her innate artistic talent is apparent in many different fields of art and she tries to combine various genres of art with music.

The father and daughter are enthusiastic in their work, but at times they gather together for some fun activities. In the music video of “Can’t Nobody,” the title track of 2NE1’s official album, CL appears with some robots in the middle of the clip that were made by her father.

The singer has often revealed her affection and respect for her father saying that his unlimited creative activity and passion continuously affect her in many ways.

SBS releases original soundtrack album for To The Beautiful You

SBS’s Wednesday-Thursday series To The Beautiful You will release its original soundtrack album on September 19.

The album includes twenty-five songs in total, including, ten songs, which have been released on several online music sites as digital singles since September 15, and other various instrumental music.

Artists, including, The Grace’s Dana, Super Junior’s Kyuhyun, SNSD’s Taeyeon, Jessica, Tiffany, and Sunny, SHINee’s Onew and Tae Min, f(x)’s Luna and Krystal, and J-Min, from SM Entertainment participated in the soundtrack and received considerable attention.

Tae Min sang the solo “It’s You” and the sisters Jessica and Krystal sang the duet “Butterfly.” Taeyeon sang the solo “Closer” and Kyuhyun and Tiffany sang the song “To The Beautiful You” together.

The series is about a girl named Goo Jae Hee (played by f(x)’s Sulli), who transfers to the same school that high jump gold medalist Kang Tae Joon (played by SHINee’s Min Ho) attends. The research center thinks the music video of “Gangnam Style” will still receive more votes. The music video has been watched by almost two hundred million people. It’s expected to be watched by three hundred million people within October and five hundred million people within November. The music video received a hundred million hits in only 52 days, which is faster than Justin Beiber’s “Baby (52 days),” and Beyonce’s “Single Lady (114 days).”

Psy’s “Gangnam Style” is the only Korean song, which captivated people from all over the world.

Visible Measures, a world-renowned independent third-party measurement firm for Internet video publishers, reported that all videos related to the music video of “Gangnam Style” have received over 3.5 million hits as of September 15. FT Island have sold 30,000 copies of their fourth album, Five Treasure Box, in a week.

Big Bang’s G-Dragon recently released a music video of “Crayon.” In this music video, he appears dressing up like a girl.

In the music video of “Crayon,” which was released on September 17 at midnight, G-Dragon portrays various characters, including a doctor, a drummer, Pinocchio, and a girl.

Dressing up like a girl with long straight blond hair, G-Dragon is staring at the camera with a provocative look in his eyes.

YG Entertainment, G-Dragon’s agency, says, “This music video of G-Dragon is quite entertaining as part of the lyrics, ‘why so series,’ tells. It shows how talent G-Dragon is as an entertainer.”

“Crayon” is an experimental song, in which hip-hop and electronic sounds are mixed. G-Dragon performed the song for the first time on SBS TV’s Inkigayo on September 16.
