Netizen ranks idol stars according to variety show skills



A recent post on an online community board ranking idol stars on their variety show appeal is drawing attention from fans.
Idol Variety Show Rank“, the post read, and the top three spots in the upper rank were seized bySuper Juniorg.o.d, and Girls’ Generation.
The netizen wrote, “Super Junior is the real deal when it comes to variety show entertainment, and g.o.d were the best of their time.” In regards to Girls’ Generation, the netizen wrote, “I was debating whether to put them amongst the top or the middle, but there are no female idols that perform as well on variety shows as Girls’ Generation. Even Seohyun, who is more of the EBS (educational channel) type, has middle-level entertainment skills.”
The mid-rank variety show idols included 2PM2AMMBLAQT-ara, and Big Bang, while groups likeSECRETf(x)SHINee4minuteKARAB2STmiss A, and TVXQ ranked amongst the bottom.
The netizen went on to label legendary idol group Shinhwa as the ‘gods’ of entertainment television, while Wonder Girls were referred to as a ‘disaster’ when it came to variety shows. “Shinhwa is like the official textbook of variety entertainment. If idols want to be on variety shows, they need to be on par with them,” the netizen wrote, while also saying, “[Wonder Girls] have opened the hell gates of JYP when it comes to variety entertainment.”
Fellow netizens who saw the post responded with mixed reactions, stating, “Let’s just enjoy entertainment shows for what they are- entertainment“, “Shinhwa truly is the best“, “Yes, I acknowledge Shinhwa as the best“, “Don’t you think Super Junior are the gods of variety entertainment?”, and more.

miss A‘s Suzy who is dubbed as the ‘nation’s first love’ revealed her real, unedited figure in a recent picture.
On May 16th, the above picture was shared on an online community board with the caption, “Suzy, her real figure taken from the front view.”
Suzy’s flesh-colored dress that blended in with her skin tone highlighted her trim figure, and the matching nude heels made her legs appear even longer. The black band caused her waist to look even more slim, and netizens who were wowed by this unedited photo of Suzy remarked that she could be a real model with her proportionate figure and tall height.
Wow… her proportions are excellent“, they wrote after seeing the photo, along with “Looks like she can surpass an actual model.

Jaejoong’s ‘Time Slip Dr. Jin’ costume causes him discomfort


As Jaejoong of JYJ prepares for his drama role in ‘Time Slip Dr. Jin‘, it seems that his topknot is proving to be quite the formidable opponent.
On May 16th, Jaejoong tweeted the above photo with a caption that read, “The topknot is tight. I think my forehead is about to cave in.
In the photo, Jaejoong is seen wearing the martial artist costume for his character in the historical drama. His displeased face speaks a thousand words as the hairdresser administered a tight topknot.
Followers commented, “The topknot knows no mercy,” “This is just funny,” and “Thanks for a great laugh!
In related news, Jaejoong’s ‘Time Slip Dr. Jin’ will be airing its first episode through MBC on May 26th.

2PM to perform live at MTV Video Music Awards Japan 2012



Along with releasing their 4th Japanese single “Beautiful“ on June 6th, 2PM will also be simultaneously releasing a DVD with footage from their first arena tour, which was attended by 100,000 fans. Their new album’s title song “Beautiful” has been already been introduced in a Japanese commercial, and has been receiving a hot response from the Japanese fans since. The new single album will also include “Kimi Ga Areba“, a track written by 2PM’s very own Junho.
Furthermore, the ‘MTV Video Music Awards Japan 2012‘ will be held at the Makuhari Messe on June 23rd, and 2PM will be attending the event alongside some of Japan’s top artists. The boys who will be putting on a live performance at the award ceremony have also been nominated to receive the ‘Best Group Video‘ award for ”I’m Your Man“.

JYJ’s Jun Su changes into a beautiful girl



JYJ’s Jun Su recently attracted attention by dressing up as a girl.
On May 15, Jun Su uploaded a picture of himself on his Twitter account with the comment, “Thank  you, everyone. Always.”
In the picture, Jun Su is dressed up as a girl. Dressed in a black outfit and having wavy hair, Jun Su looks proud of himself. He’s especially attracting attention with his pretty face.

Jun Su will soon releasing his first solo album Tarantallegra and is also preparing for his concert tour in Asia, which will start in Korea on May 19 and 20. He’s also nominated for the Best Actor at the 6th The Musical Awards, which will take place next month, for his role in the musical Elizabeth.

Boy band CNBLUE is getting a lot of attention after appearing in a textbook in Thailand.
An online community posted a picture of CNBLUE, which was included in a 12th grade, basic music textbook, in Thailand.
Under the picture, it says, “This band is very popular in Korea. They perform very emotional and vivid music for the public.”

JYJ’s Kim Jun Soo, “Xia is my identity”



Kim Jun Soo held a press conference at Lotte Hotel in Seoul on May 16 and introduced his first solo album Xia Tarantallegra .
Kim said, “I used my stage name Xia as the title for my first solo album. Xia is my identity and the word includes everything about my identity.”
Kim debuted in 2004 as a member of group TVXQ and used his stage name Xia Jun Soo. Then he left SM Entertainment with Kim Jae Joong and Park Yoo Chun and formed JYJ together.
Kim explained why he used the name Xia again. “I haven’t changed it for the last 8 years so using the name Xia is natural. I didn’t think that much about my name. I don’t mind which name my fans call me among Jun Soo, Kim Jun Soo, Xia, and Xia Jun Soo.”
He added, “I use Xia when I give my autograph. I’ve never changed my autograph either. My situation has changed but I myself haven’t changed at all. That’s why I named my album Xia.”
Kim released his first solo album on May 15. He is the first member among JYJ members, to release a solo album.
He showed off his talented skills as a singer-songwriter by producing his album and writing most of songs by himself. Various genres, including, dance, pop ballad, and R & B are included in the album and Kim Jae Joong, Dynamic Duo’s Gaeko, and rapper Bizzy were featured in the album.
Kim will hold a concert at Jamsil Gymnasium in Seoul on May 12 and 20 to celebrate the release of his album. Then he will tour Asian countries, including, Thailand, Macao, Taiwan, Indonesia, and China until July.

New girl group Hello Venus appears on a reality program



Actor Joo Sang Wook fell in love with new girl group Hello Venus’ charms.
MBC’s Birth of Venus: I’m Your Venus, shows how the members of Hello Venus are adapting to their lives as idols.
I’m Your Venus is a reality program with the concept that since the almighty god, Zeus from Greek mythology could not become an idol himself, he sends down six beautiful daughters to earth and makes them debut as Hello Venus.
On the first episode of the series, which will air on May 16, actor Joo Sang Wook will appear as a cameo for the music video of their debut song. Even after the shooting, Joo stayed behind and gave good laughs by saying, “I feel so refreshed!”
In the time where reality programs are considered as a must-go-through course for male idols, the appearance of the new girl group Hello Venus made many men’s hearts flutter.
This reality program I’m Your Venus with the special concept of Venus from Greek myths, will air every Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. at MBC Music.
