JYJ’s Kim Jae Joong ranks high on Japanese charts



JYJ’s Kim Jae Joong is drawing a lot of attention by ranking high on every Japanese chart.
Japanese magazine Anan recently did a survey asking, “What is your favorite Hallyu TV series?” SBS’s Protect The Boss, in which Kim appeared, ranked first.
Kim also ranked third, following Hyun Bin, on the survey of ‘Japanese women’s favorite Korean actor.’
The fashion magazine, which sells around 300 thousand copies every week since 1970, is well known as a publication that features the top stars. The magazine is also very popular among girls from their 20s through 30s.
The series was aired on Japanese TBS in July and received considerable attention. The ‘Protect The Boss Kim Jae Joong Special Making DVD,’ which will be released in November, ranked first on a chart as soon as they started to receiving reservation offers.
A Japanese official says, “Kim has many fans who love him in Japan. His series made him even more popular all across the country.”
Kim will start going on an Asian fan meeting tour on October 20 in China.

JYJ’s Kim Jun Su ranks first with his original soundtrack for a TV series



JYJ’s Kim Jun Su recently ranked first on several online music charts with his original soundtrack “Love is Like a Snowflake” of KBS’s series Innocent Man.
As soon as the song was released, Kim showed off his power by ranking first on the real time charts of Bugs, Daum Music, and Cyworld Music.
The song features Kim’s unique voice and delicate emotions. In the fourth episode of the series, which aired last week, Kim made a surprise appearance through the song and received considerable attention.
Kim has been releasing several popular original soundtracks, including, “You are so Beautiful” of Scene of a Woman and “I Hate Love” of Protect The Boss.

JYJ’s Kim Jae Joong uploaded a picture in India.
On September 24, Kim uploaded a picture on his Twitter with the caption, “I’m at work! I am so going to eat Indian curry today!” In the picture, Kim is wearing a sleeveless shirt and looking at the camera with his big eyes.
Previously, Kim created a stir by revealing a picture of himself in India. In the previous post, Kim uploaded a picture of himself topless with the caption, “It’s so warm in India.”
Netizens commented: “Kim Jae Joong’s smile is such an art.” “His self-taken picture looks like a pictorial.” “I hope that you take a picture of the Indian curry too!” “I can’t believe that a guy is this pretty.”

JYJ’s Kim Jun Su: “I didn’t care what I looked like”



JYJ’s Kim Jun Su recently talked about his appearance.
Kim, who has magnificently transformed himself as a solo singer, shot a pictorial and gave an interview for the star life style magazine @star1. He also explained why he had the gender neutral concept for his first solo EPTarantallegra.
Kim said, “I couldn’t imagine getting my nails done or dying my hair brilliant colors. I was not interested in making myself pretty and I just thought that I have to sing well as a singer. But the musical Das Musical Elisabeth, in which I played the role of a dreamlike man named Tod, changed me.”
“I felt like I’m far apart from the character. I looked at the mirror and I decided to lose some weight. Singing is still my priority but since my job is to show myself to the public, I can’t overlook my appearance. Now I feel rather weird if I don’t get my nails done.”
Kim talks about his fashion, world tour, plans as a musical actor, and his everyday life through the October issue of the magazine, which was published on September 20.

JYJ show off their clean skin in white clothes



JYJ recently did a TV commercial shoot.
Having recently started working as models for the cosmetics brand Tony Moly, JYJ did a TV commercial shoot for the brand. In the shoot, JYJ showed off both a classy, charismatic look and a gentle, warm look.
Kim Seung Chul, the director of the Marketing Department of Tony Moly, says, “We could conduct the commercial shoot in a friendly mood because of JYJ’s professional attitude and enthusiastic cooperation. Through this commercial of JYJ with some other great models, we’ll promote the trendy, urban image of Tony Moly globally.”
JYJ will continue working as models for the brand in Asia, except for Japan. The commercial can be seen on TV and papers from next month.

JYJ’s Jae Joong to go on a large-scale fan meeting tour of Asia



JYJ’s Jae Joong will go on a fan meeting tour of Asia this fall.
On September 21, JYJ’s agency reported that Jae Joong will hold fan meetings in such Asian countries as China, Thailand, and Indonesia, from October 21.
The agency says, “Jae Joong, who has received many favorable reviews for his acting in the drama series Doctor Jin, will go on a fan meeting tour to meet his Asian fans.”
Jae Joong says, “I feel very nervous because I haven’t seen my fans for a long time. I’m happy to deliver some news about me and talk about my drama series and movies.”
Jae Joong is currently shooting his new film, Jackal is Coming, and also reviewing some scripts for his next work.

JYJ vs. SM Entertainment: Fail to mediate once again



Group JYJ and SM Entertainment recently failed to come to a conclusion in mediation over their contract.
On September 18, a grievance mediation over JYJ’s exclusive contract with SM Entertainment was held at the Seoul Central District Court. The court summoned the opposing attorneys and Kim Young Min, the president of SM Entertainment. However, the two sides couldn’t iron out their differences.
The court advised them to hold a mediation once again and postponed delivering its final judgement without a time limit. The two sides previously failed to come to a conclusion in the final mediation last year.
In 2009, JYJ field for an injunction against SM Entertainment regarding invalidity of their exclusive contract and SM Entertainment asked the court to affirm validity of the exclusive contract and sued JYJ for damages in April, 2010.

JYJ’s Kim Jun Su: “My house is just like a hotel for my friends”



JYJ’s Kim Jun Su recently said that his house is a favorite hang-out for his friends.
Kim, who is currently touring the world, shot a pictorial and gave an interview for the star life style magazine @star1and revealed his everyday life.
Kim showed off his honest, free and easy charms throughout the interview. When he was asked about his everyday life, he said, “I like hanging out with my friends.”
“My house is like a hotel. When I’m at home, my friends just come over to my house entering passwords for the door lock. I’m very close to B2ST’s Lee Gi Kwang and pro-gamers Yeom Bo Sung and Seo Kyung Jong. Whenever we have a rest day, we hang out at my house.
“I sometimes play soccer with B2ST’s Lee and Yoon Doo Jun and Seo Ji Seok near Han river after midnight.”
Kim, who is well known as a soccer maniac, talks about his passion for soccer, music, world tour, and his everyday life through the October issue of the magazine, which was published on September 20.

JYJ’s Kim Jun Su: “I was sick but I wanted to play soccer with Park Ji Sung”



JYJ’s Kim Jun Su recently talked about a behind the scenes story when he played soccer with Park Ji Sung.
Kim, who is well known as a soccer maniac, recently shot a pictorial and gave an interview for the October issue of the magazine @star1.
Kim also talked about when he attended a charity soccer game with Park in 2011 in Vietnam.
Kim said, “I wasn’t there for the soccer game but Park said, ‘I heard you like soccer. Come play with me.’ I wasn’t feeling very well that day but I pretended that I was okay so I could play soccer with him.”
“I played soccer for fun but Vietnamese players might have thought that I’m a soccer player too because I was tackled by them a lot. I passed the ball to protect myself.”
“Since I wasn’t feeling very well, after the game I was really exhausted. Even though I had arrived in Korea, I’ve been sick for two weeks. If I were to be born again, I would want to be a soccer player.”

JYJ’s Kim Jae Joong is the youngest-looking oldest member



JYJ’s Kim Jae Joong was recently selected as the oldest member, who looks younger than the youngest member in his group.
Community portal site DC Inside did a survey starting on September 11 through 18 asking, “Who looks younger than the youngest member even though he is the oldest member in his group?”
Kim, who is well known as a handsome man with his clear skin and great fashion sense, ranked first with a score of 37.9 percent (1,215 of 3,202 votes). He impresses his fans by releasing cute self portraits.
TVXQ’s Yun Ho ranked second with a score of 26 percent (834 votes). Even though he shows off his charismatic charm on stage, he often acts cutesy on several variety shows.
CNBLUE’s Jung Yong Hwa ranked third with a score of 7.5 percent (204 votes). He recently showed off his muscular arms and back and drew a lot of attention.
The top three winners were followed by Super Junior’s Leeteuk, SHINee’s Onew, and Infinite’s Sungkyu.

JYJ are selected as a new face of Tony Moly



JYJ were recently selected as a new face of Tony Moly.
On September 17, the cosmetic brand Tony Moly announced that it has selected JYJ as its new exclusive models.” JYJ will model for the brand in all Asian countries, including Korea, China, Taiwan, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Thailand (except for Japan), for an year.
Kim Seung Chul, the director of the Marketing Department of Tony Moly, says, “JYJ are the best Hallyu singing group in and out of Korea. As we’re trying to expand our business abroad, we’re expecting JYJ will help our brand to become globally well-known.”
The Tony Moly’s TV commercial can be seen at all stores of Tony Moly and on TV from next month. A spokesperson for Tony Moly says, “Each JYJ member’s stylish, gentle look and the trendy, urban concept of Tony Moly will achieve synergy, invigorating the brand.”

The court has postponed delivering its final judgment on JYJ’s lawsuit against SM



Regarding the exclusive contract between JYJ and SM Entertainment, the court has postponed delivering its final judgment on JYJ’s lawsuit against SM Entertainment.
On September 13, the 47th Civil Court of the Seoul Central District Court announced that it has postponed delivering its final judgment on JYJ’s lawsuit against SM Entertainment about invalidity of JYJ’s exclusive contract with SM. The court was supposed to deliver its final judgment on September 13 at 10:00 a.m., but the justice department advised going to arbitration one more time.
JYJ’s attorney reported, “The justice department advised going to arbitration again. There’s considerable disagreement between the two parties, but the justice department thinks they can reach agreement. Spokespersons for two parties will soon meet again for this.”
SM Entertainment and JYJ have tried to reach agreement since May last year by going to arbitration several times. However, they couldn’t reach agreement, and the case was referred to the court.
They both delivered their opinions last May, but they stood at very different standpoints and referred the case to the court. However, the justice department again advised going to arbitration.
In 2009, JYJ filed for an injunction against SM Entertainment regarding invalidity of their exclusive contract with SM. As the court granted it, SM Entertainment asked the court to affirm validity of the exclusive contract and sued JYJ for damages in April, 2010.
JYJ also filed a lawsuit against SM Entertainment to confirm invalidity of the contract, and the court turned down SM’s lawsuit against JYJ in February last year.
The court’s decision clarified that the exclusive contract between JYJ and SM is invalid.

JYJ’s Kim Jun Su is ready to go on his European tour



JYJ’s Kim Jun Su (Xia) completed his northern South American tour on September 10 (local time).
Kim began his northern South American tour on August 30 of over 17,000 kilometers through New York, LA, Mexico, Brazil, and Chile.
Kim finished holding a concert in Brazil and arrived in Chile on September 9. Over 500 fans gathered at the Airport to see Kim and brought the Airport to a halt.
When Kim appeared at the Teatro Caupolica in Santiago, over 3,000 fans gave him hearty cheers. Fans from South America, including, Peru, Argentina, Bulgaria, and Paraguay, were extremely excited by his appearance.
Kim said hello to his fans in Spanish and took some time to take pictures with the fans.
Kim says, “I was greatly encouraged by the tour. I will always do my best as long as my fans love my music. I will remember all their support and love from the other side of the Earth. I will work harder to make better music and give better performances.”
An eighteen-year-old girl from Chile says, “Thank you very much for coming to South America once again. The concert was perfect like the last one and I will love Jun Su forever.”
Local media outlets, including La Segunda and La Nacion, reported on Kim and his world tour and visited the venue to cover his concert.
An official for a media outlet says, “It’s great that he came to Chile for the second time. Thanks to Kim, people in Chile are falling in love with Korea and learning Korean too. I was surprised at his passion and his fantastic concert.”
Kim will start going on his European tour soon after holding concerts in six Asian cities and five northern South American cities.

JYJ’s Jun Su says, “My ideal type is a feminine woman”



JYJ’s Jun Su recently talked about his ideal type.
On September 5 at 2:00 p.m., Jun Su gave an interview to Korean reporters at Camino Real Hotel in Mexico City before holding a concert in Mexico.
After releasing his first solo album, Tarantallegra, in May, Jun Su had concerts in Seoul, Thailand, Indonesia, Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, New York, and LA, meeting over 40,000 fans. On September 6 at 8:00 p.m., Jun Su will hold a concert at the Auditorio BlackBerry in Mexico City. He’s the first Korean solo singer who holds a concert in Mexico city.
Jun Su also talked about his ideal type.
Jun Su said, “I want to have a girlfriend. I don’t have a specific ideal type, but I like a girl who is polite and feminine. I’ve dated a few times, but I don’t have a girlfriend now. I think I will be kicked out even if I have a girlfriend now, though,” insinuating that he’s currently having busy days.
Regarding the fact that he’s the first Korean solo singer holding a concert in Mexico, Jun Su said, “This is my first visit to Mexico, and I’m very happy to be able to hold a concert here. More than 3,000 fans will come to my concert in spite of the fact that this is my first concert in Mexico. I’m so thrilled.”
Jun Su also said, “When I got this opportunity to hold a concert in Mexico, I thought K-pop had really spread all over the world. I’ll try my utmost to create the best concert for my fans in Mexico.”
Jun Su will also hold concerts in Brazil, Chile, and some European countries.

JYJ’s Kim Jun Su recently gave a life size doll a big hug.
On September 5, Kim tweeted a picture with the comment, “You don’t like me?”
In the picture, Kim is giving a life size doll a tight hug from behind. He is also pouting his lips like he is going to give the doll a kiss and it made many people laugh.
People who saw the picture responded: “I want to take over for the doll.” “Is it okay if I envy the doll?” “Kim is so cute.”
Kim is currently keeping busy both at home and abroad with his solo EP Uncommitted, which was released on August 17.

JYJ’s Kim Jae Joong and Jin Yi Han have a food battle


Recently, singer and actor Kim Jae Joong posted some pictures of his cooking battle with Jin Yi Han.
On September 2, Kim tweeted Jin, “Here is the gimbap Munch you made. And this is a gimbap lady after getting a permanent,” and attached pictures accordingly.
One of the photos is a work of “Munch,” made up of gimbap and some seasoned rice wrapped in fried tofu bags by Jin Yi Han. Another picture shows Kim’s dish which reminds people of an old lady after getting a perm on her hair.
First of all, the “Munch” was completed as the eyes and mouth are decorated with pieces of gimbap and the ears with rice in fried tofu bags. The face is shaped with ketchup, giving laughter to viewers. The lady with a perm has seven curled bunches of hair represented by seven pieces of gimbap, and it also has ketchup represent the eyes, nose, mouth, and facial shape.
Along with these pictures, Kim posted some of his funny pictures with the comment, “Please keep supporting Jin Yi Han with your love.”
Netizens who saw the posting commented: “Suppose they are very close friends.” “It makes me smile.” “Kim Jae Joong’s gimbap battle. He’s a cutie.” “Let me join you.” “The battle is funny.”
Kim Jae Joong and Jin Yi Han worked together in MBC’s drama series Dr. Jin which closed recently.

JYJ’s Kim Jun Su recently took a picture with his mom and American songwriter Bruce Automatic.
On September 3, Kim’s mother tweeted a picture with the comment, “We met Automatic. He was happy to see us and he cheered for Jun Su throughout the concert saying that he has huge energy. He kept holding his thumb up.”
She added, “The song “Uncommitted” in particular! He waved a glow stick that I gave him as a present. He has it around his neck.”
In the picture, Automatic, Kim, and Kim’s mother are posing for the camera. Kim and his mother showed off their beautiful appearance together.

JYJ’s Yoo Chun wins awards at Seoul Drama Awards: “I owe this to my father”



JYJ’s Yoo Chun gave an impressive acceptance speech.
On August 30, Yoo Chun won Hallyu Special – Best Actor and Most Popular Actor at the 2012 Seoul Drama Awards, which was held at Jangchungdong National Theatre.
After receiving the awards, Yoo Chun stated, “I was lucky to have worked on Rooftop Price. I worked with many people, but I especially appreciate Han Ji Min, the director, and my family. I really wanted my father to watch this drama series, but unfortunately he left this world before it started airing. I owe these prizes to him.”
Yoo Chun received the news of his father’s death late because of JYJ’s tour of South America in March. The body of his father was cremated and laid at the Seoul Memorial Park.
This was the seventh year for Seoul Drama Awards since it was held for the first time in 2006 by Korean Broadcasters Association and Seoul Drama Awards Organizing Committee.

JYJ’s Yoo Chun says, “I didn’t know I was this popular in China”


JYJ’s Yoo Chun recently held his fan meeting successfully in Shanghai, China.
On August 25, Yoo Chun held his fan meeting, titled the 2012 Park Yoo Chun Asia Tour Fan Meeting in Shanghai, at the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Shanghai.
Yoo Chun started the fan meeting singing “The Empty Space For You,” a soundtrack of MBC TV’s drama series Miss. Ripley, and talked about how he had been doing lately. He spent about two hours with his fans, presenting some important scenes of Miss. Ripley with his fans, giving quizzes to his fans over the phone, and playing a popping-balloons game.


On August 26, C-Jes Entertainment, Yoo Chun’s agency, said, “The Rooftop Prince received a lot of attention even before it started airing in China. Yoo Chun became popular when Sungkyunkwan Scandal aired. We knew that many Chinese people liked Yoo Chun, but we didn’t know he was this popular in China. We feel like we can also successfully hold the rest of Yoo Chun’s fan meeting tour.”
Yoo Chun’s popularity in China has been proven many times. The number of Yoo Chun’s fan community members on Baidu, the biggest portal site in China, exceeded 0.1 million a long time ago, and around 5,000 Chinese fans gathered signatures, making a request for a fan meeting with Yoo Chun. On August 24, when Yoo Chun arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport, over 1,500 Chinese fans swarmed over to the airport to see him, paralyzing all operations of the airport.
Yoo Chun says, “I was surprised to see so many people welcoming me despite the fact that it’s been a while since I visited Shanghai for the last time. All I did was working hard, but I feel like I’m getting more than I’m supposed to. I really appreciate all the fans for coming to see me. I’ll work harder to thank you for this.”
