Members of girl group 4minute recently transformed into innocent girls.
Since other girl groups usually show off their innocent and cute charms first and then show off sexy charms later, 4minute’s reversal is getting a lot of attention.
4minute opened a teaser site on their official website on April 3 and released their first teaser image for the title song “Volume Up” from their 3rd mini album.
In the picture, 4minute members show off their innocent and girlish charms. They caught the public’s attention by showing off neutral and powerful images. As a result, many people are paying attention to their portrayal of innocent and clean spring girls.
The group members also made a stir by showing off their innocent charms through a fashion pictorial. People are wondering how the members are going to change for their new album.
Their agency, Cube Entertainment, says, “The title song “Volume Up” and other new songs from the album are the result of new musical experiment with various genres.”

SISTAR shoot a music video in Las Vegas


SISTAR recently attracted attention by releasing a music video filmed in Las Vegas.
The music video released on April 3 is set in the splendid night of Las Vegas. This music video, which highlights SISTAR members’ fancy appearances, looks just like a movie.
A spokesperson for SISTAR says, “This music video was filmed in both Korea and Las Vegas. SISTAR members put a lot of efforts into this music video, probably more than any others ones. You’ll be able to see SISTAR’s alluring performance and hear music that moves your heart.”
SISTAR are coming back to the music scene, releasing a new album on April 12.

Infinite invades again


Boy band of the moment Infinite wowed fans for the second time at their sold-out encore concert “Second Invasion – Evolution,” which took place on April 1 at Olympic Park in eastern Seoul.
The concert was staged again due to demand after the band performed at the same venue just one and half months ago.
Fans from Asia and all over the world attended the concert which was packed full of special effects, individual performances and an introduction to the band’s new album to be released in May.
For fans, the highlight of the concert was when Sungkyu sat at the grand piano and sang “Only Tears,” which will be on the band’s upcoming album.
“It’s a new ballad piece that the band recorded together, but I prepared it as a solo piece just for the concert,” said Sungkyu.
Meanwhile the other band members let fans in on a secret: The track may be the title track of the new album.
As well as singing their hit songs “Paradise,” “Be Mine” and “Hysterie,” Sungyeol performed his rendition of “SexyBack” by Justin Timberlake while Hoya sang Omarion’s “O”. Sungjong had the audience in stitches when he emerged in drag to sing “Coming of Age” by Park Ji-yoon.

SNSD’s Yoona shows off her slender waist


The slender waist of SNSD’s Yoona is currently attracting many people’s attention.
A picture under the title of “Yoona’s slender waist” was recently uploaded on an online community board. The picture was taken when she made a guest appearance on Fuji TV’s Mechamechaiketeru (めちゃ2イケてるッ)that aired on March 31.
In the picture, Yoona’s figure especially stands out because of her white t-shirt. In the episode, one of the guests said, “Your waist is really slender” and Yoona got laughs as she put her hands on her waist and posed.
People responded: “Yoona, are you eating well?” “I envy her slender waist but I also feel somewhat sad about it,” “I don’t know how she’s handling all the schedule,” “That’s a ridiculous size,” “Yoona’s slender waist is really surprising.”

The BOSS’s “Jumping” spotted on the Oricon weekly chart


The BOSS’s fifth single “Jumping” is ranked fifth on the Oricon weekly chart.
The minute it was released on March 28, the song was placed third on the Oricon single daily chart. The group’s popularity continued to grow, ranking it fifth on the weekly chart as well.
Unlike their previous images as gentlemen in Japan, the group appeals with a totally different look—tough and powerful—through the song “Jumping,” and fans find it refreshing.
From March 27 to April 2, a large panel was installed at the Shibuya Tower Record celebrating the release. The BOSS also began to hold a handshaking session since March 30, attracting more than 1,000 fans so far.
After releasing their first official album in Korea in April, the group will be more busy giving performances.

Billboard Brazil specially covers JYJ’s concert tour in South America


The Billboard Brazil paid special attention to JYJ.
An article about JYJ’s first concert tour in South America, held in Chile on April 9 and Peru on 11, was uploaded on the official website of the Billboard Brazil, the world-renowned music charts.
Under the headline of “K-Pop trio JYJ fascinates people in Chile and Peru,” the Billboard Brazil reported, “K-pop group JYJ of Jae Joong, Yoo Chun, and Jun Su attracted people from all over South America to Chile and Peru in early March although they were geographically far away from the countries.”
The Billboard Brazil also reported, “The popularity of JYJ was higher than that of Britney Spears and Black Eyed Peas,” quoting from an article of El Comercio, the biggest newspaper in Peru.
The Billboard Brazil introduced JYJ as, “The first K-pop group holding an exclusive concert tour in Spain, Germany, Chile, and Peru. JYJ are currently preparing a second worldwide album, and they’re also active in TV drama series and musicals.”

Check out the Top 10 K-pop songs for the first quarter of 2012


T-ara and Big Bang turned out to rule the first quarter of the K-pop music industry.
On April 4, music site, Monkey, released the Top 10 for the first quarter of 2012, which was made by adding all the number of download of a song and the number of streaming.
According to the chart, “Lovey-Dovey,” released by T-ara in January, hit the top in January and remained in Top 10 for seven consecutive weeks (From the first week of January to the third week of February) and successfully ranked first for the first quarter.
Among boy group, Big Bang stood dominant. Having released a new mini-album late February of last year, the five versatile boys proved their ability by getting high ranks for their songs—Fantastic Baby (no.2), Blue (no. 4), Bad Boy (no. 9).
“Tracing Back in Time,” from the sound track of MBC’s The Moon that Embraces the Sun, done by female solo Lynn ranked third, and it proved the overwhelming popularity of the series.
“Touch,” done by miss A ranked fifth, “Trouble Maker,” done by 4MINUTE’s Hyun Ah and B2ST’s Hyun Seung 6th, “You’re Like Me” seventh, and “Heaven” done by high-profile rookie Ailee eighth, and a song done by Jeong Joon Ha, member of MBC’s Infinite Challenge.

T-ara’s ‘Lovey Dovey’ is too racy for children, government says


T-ara’s super-popular music video for “Lovey Dovey” has been deemed harmful to teenagers by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, according to a ruling yesterday.
T-ara’s film clip, which features actor Cha Seung-won, will now be banned from airing on television before 10 p.m. Albums featuring the song will be required to feature a sticker that prohibits purchase by those under 19 years of age.
The ministry said it made the decision because the video promoted violence and made references to drugs.
Other artists were also subject to similar rulings on the same day, seeing sale of their work restricted as well. Hip-hop artist Defconn was targeted by the agency as well as the song “Yet Another Day” from the musical “Next to Normal.”
“Lovey Dovey” was released in January of this year and has topped various charts in Korea as well as in Japan, having come in at the third spot on the Oricon singles chart.

ZE:A’s Kwang-hee proudly admits to having his entire face ‘retouched’



Kwang-hee of the boy band ZE:A has admitted to having gone under the knife for extensive plastic surgery and said he would get more, but can’t because of his fame.
“Basically, everything you can see on my face has been retouched. I had my nose done, work done on my forehead, and oh, my eyes, too,” said the 23-year-old star of the rising boy group on an episode of KBS 2TV’s “1 vs. 100” on Tuesday.
“I thought that my eyes needed to be subtle in relations to other features. Wouldn’t it have been too much if my eyes looked super enhanced? I’m a man who knows moderation,” joked the idol singer.
In a candid manner, Kwang-hee spoke to the host of the show about the taboo topic that many other celebrities simply try to avoid. When asked if he wanted to retouch his face further, he said he simply couldn’t.
“Of course I could think of problem areas. But firstly, I don’t have the time. Secondly, everyone would be able to tell. It’s about time I stopped with surgery.”

Mblaq’s G.O attended the script reading session for the new series, Ghost, but nothing is certain yet


J. Tune Camp denied the report that Mblaq’s G.O will certainly be joining SBS TV’s Ghost by saying, “He did attend the script reading session, but nothing has been decided yet.”
On the afternoon of April 4, Yoon Ji Young, a representative of Mblaq’s agency J. Tune Camp, revealed, “G.O is making final adjustments about the appearance for the series, Ghost. Nothing is certain yet. However, he did attend the script reading of Ghost.” during the phone call with TV Report.
Ghost is a collaboration work between writer Kim Eun Hee and producer Kim Hyung Sik, who also co-worked for the series Sign, last year. So Ji Seop and Lee Yeon Hee will star the series, and it will start broadcasting in May after the ending of Rooftop Prince.

MBLAQ are holding a first concert tour in Asia after they made their debut three years ago.

MBLAQ are already popular in all over Asia with their perfect group dance and singing abilities and each member’s distinctive personality. They say, “We’re so nervous about and feel huge responsibility for our first Asia tour.”
J.Tune Camp, MBLAQ’s agency, says, “While actively promoting their fourth minialbum BLAQ% Ver., MBLAQ worked really hard on preparing their Asia tour. As all members have waited for this Asia tour for so long, they’re going to put all their efforts into the preparation. We’ll promise to give a great concert tour to enhance MBLAQ’s position and upgrade K-Pop’s status in Asia.
MBLAQ’s leader Seung Ho says, “Since we debuted, we’ve been dreaming of holding a concert tour in Asia. We’re very happy because our dream has become actualized.” G.O says, “We’ll  try our best to give the best concert tour. It will be a great opportunity for us to repay our fans for their love.”
CJ E&M says, “According to reports, people in all the six cities are excited about MBLAQ’s concert tour. We’re planning to set the stage that highlights MBLAQ’s powerful performance and musical talent.”
MBLAQ’s first concert will be held in Indonesia on June 30 and will continue to Thailand, Korea, Singapore, Japan, and Taiwan.
