Psy recently cried out, “I love Korea!” before Americans.
The episode of MBC’s Feel Good Day that aired on September 17 featured singer Psy, who recently ranked first on iTunes of 18 countries, including the U.S.
The episode showed Psy appeared on NBC’s Today Show. The singer cried out, “I Love Korea,” in the middle of the talk with the emcee of the show during the outdoor performance. Psy gave a fantastic performance of his latest hit “Gangnam Style,” and carried away the U.S. audience.

Hip-hop girl group Spica soon to make a comeback



Girl group Spica is soon to be back with a livelier atmosphere.
On September 17, Spica revealed the main jacket of their digital single, I’ll Be There, which will be released on September 19.
Through this single, they will reveal a new, vivid atmosphere that is different from their old image. This song is a dance-pop song that fused hip-hop beat and funky rhythm, which has been popular back in the 90s.

The father of 2NE1’s CL publishes a book about his trip to Paris with his daughter



The father of CL (the leader of 2NE1 which is composed of Park Bom, Sandara Park, Gong Min Ji, and CL) showed off his artist talent just like his daughter.
Recently, professor Lee Ki Jin of Department of Physics in Sogang University who is also the father of CL has published a book titled Collage Paris in which he talks about his trip to Paris with his daughter in July.
In the book, professor Lee introduces himself as the father of 2NE1’s CL, a professor of Department of Physics, an author of children’s book, and a collector of many different things. Putting aside his title as a physicist, he revealed some attributes of an artist through his distinctive language and pictures and the way he reinterpret things from a new perspective.
He is also called an “author of magic” and held his own exhibition with his writings and pictures. When CL was little, he wrote a story for children titled Head-butter, Kkak-ka, which later developed into a series of Kkak-ka.
Professor Lee basically gives you hint of where CL got her artist talent from. Her innate artistic talent is apparent in many different fields of art and she tries to combine various genres of art with music.
The father and daughter are enthusiastic in their work, but at times they gather together for some fun activities. In the music video of “Can’t Nobody,” the title track of 2NE1’s official album, CL appears with some robots in the middle of the clip that were made by her father.
The singer has often revealed her affection and respect for her father saying that his unlimited creative activity and passion continuously affect her in many ways.
Professor Lee Ki Jin is broadening his activity range with his talent adding more titles to himself besides a physicist. Now people are becoming curious of his book Collage Paris wondering how he would surprise the world this time.

G-Dragon Releases ‘Crayon’ MV



With the release of his comeback mini-album ‘One of a Kind’ and dominating music charts with an all-kill, Big Bang leader G-Dragon is back to to top search engines. WIth the excitement still high from his comeback stage on Inkigayo, G-Dragon has released yet another music video, this time for ‘Crayon’.
‘Crayon’ has a fast upbeat tune, with the catchphrase ‘Catch your crayon, crayon’.Just like its name, the video is full of colour as G-Dragon sports a duo-toned pastel hair color. The video starts off with G-Dragon on the bed donning on a Wonder Woman robe, thereafter the television is switched on revealing different personas of him. He behaves to be obssessed and crazed on something.

Proving his eccentric one-of-a-kind concept, G-Dragon even dressed up as a female in a tight mini-dress.
YG Entertainment explained that ‘Crayon’ is short for ‘Crazy On’ which is a phrase derived from the combination of‘Crazy’ + ‘G-Dragon’. Thus far, he has released music videos for ‘One of a Kind’ and ‘That XX’ off his latest mini-album.

SBS releases original soundtrack album for To The Beautiful You



SBS’s Wednesday-Thursday series To The Beautiful You will release its original soundtrack album on September 19.
The album includes twenty-five songs in total, including, ten songs, which have been released on several online music sites as digital singles since September 15, and other various instrumental music.
Artists, including, The Grace’s Dana, Super Junior’s Kyuhyun, SNSD’s Taeyeon, Jessica, Tiffany, and Sunny, SHINee’s Onew and Tae Min, f(x)’s Luna and Krystal, and J-Min, from SM Entertainment participated in the soundtrack and received considerable attention.
Tae Min sang the solo “It’s You” and the sisters Jessica and Krystal sang the duet “Butterfly.” Taeyeon sang the solo “Closer” and Kyuhyun and Tiffany sang the song “To The Beautiful You” together.
The series is about a girl named Goo Jae Hee (played by f(x)’s Sulli), who transfers to the same school that high jump gold medalist Kang Tae Joon (played by SHINee’s Min Ho) attends. Besides Sulli and Min Ho, Lee Hyun Woo, Kim Ji Won, Seo Jun Young, Kang Ha Neul, and ZE:A’s Hwang Kwang Hee appear.

Psy’s “Gangnam Style”s is people’s favorite on YouTube



The music video of Psy’s “Gangnam Style” has recently been selected as people’s favorite on YouTube.
On September 17, the Hallyu Research Center reported that “Gangnam Style” is maintaining dominant position on YouTube, beating “Party Rock Anthem,” by over 200,000 votes. On YouTube, people can click “Like” when they like the video, and from the people’s votes, the most liked video gets selected.
The music video of “Gangnam Style” ranked first, receiving 1.8 million “Likes.” The American electronic hip-hop duo LMFAO’s “Party Rock Anthem” was topping the chart with 1.57 million votes, but on September 13, it was beaten by Psy’s “Gangnam Style.” It’s also a considerable amount of votes when it’s compared to that of Justin Bieber’s “Baby,” which is 1.32 million.
The research center thinks the music video of “Gangnam Style” will still receive more votes. The music video has been watched by almost two hundred million people. It’s expected to be watched by three hundred million people within October and five hundred million people within November. The music video received a hundred million hits in only 52 days, which is faster than Justin Beiber’s “Baby (52 days),” and Beyonce’s “Single Lady (114 days).”
Psy’s “Gangnam Style” is the only Korean song, which captivated people from all over the world.
Visible Measures, a world-renowned independent third-party measurement firm for Internet video publishers, reported that all videos related to the music video of “Gangnam Style” have received over 3.5 million hits as of September 15. This record has been set in only 59 days, which is considerably faster than Justin Bieber’s “Baby (109 days)” and Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Call Me Maybe (112 days).”

FT Island sell over 30,000 copies of their fourth album, Five Treasure Box



FT Island have sold 30,000 copies of their fourth album, Five Treasure Box, in a week.
Since they released their fourth album on September 10, they have topped the charts for a week, even on the weekend. They also topped the weekly charts of sales.
The new album of FT Island contains a total of ten songs, including the lead track, “I Wish.” Seven of them are written or composed by FT Island members. The group has released many songs written and composed by themselves in Japan, but the portion they participated in is the largest this time.
FT Island received many favorable reviews from September 13 to 16 with the lead track and other songs of their new album.
They also attracted a lot of attention by performing different songs on different TV shows.
In the episode of Mnet’s M Countdown, which aired on September 13, the group performed “I Wish” and “Let It Go,” a song composed by Choi Jong Hoon, and in the episode of KBS 2TV’s Music Bank, which aired on September 14, they performed “Paper Plane,” a song written and composed by Lee Jae Jin.
In the episode of MBC TV’s Show!
