Gangnam Styling All Across the USA-

PSY’s growing popularity, all across the world, not just in the USA, has been a well discussed topic among kpop fans ever since the release of his single Gangnam Style. And, to be fair, plenty of other Korean artists have recieved wide recognition from international fans before, but never quite as large of a scale as PSY.
In my area, in the midwest of the United States, the number of kpop fans is quite small, and very few people in the area know anything about kpop. Even here, where the number of Koreans is small and the number of kpop fans even less, when I mention  ’South Korea’ I get a response along the lines of “Oh, Korea? Like PSY and that one song Gangnam Style?”. And while the pronunciation of PSY may make me cringe, most people here not only know a fair amount about him, but also love Gangnam Style and can do the dance! And, on Sunday, when I turned on the radio, what should I hear but PSY’s voice coming from the speakers saying “Heeeeeeeeey sexy laaadyyyyyy”. And the local radio DJ described PSY as something along the lines of a delicious combination of chocolate and peanut butter. I don’t know about you, but I think that means PSY has a pretty amazing song.
So congratulations to PSY! Not only does he totally own the number one spots on both youtube and itunes, but he has also done what no kpop artist has ever done before; get his song on the radio in the heart of the midwest of the USA.

Japanese netizens arouses suspicion, “Gangnam Style is plagiarized?”

Japanese netizens are raising suspicion about “Gangnam Style” plagiarizing a choreography.
Previously on an online community site on September 14, one netizen wrote a post and uploaded a video of a car center advertisement.
The video shows people in yellow cowboy hats turning their hands while holding a rope.
The writer of the post is claiming that “Gangnam Style” copied off of this advertisement.
Netizens commented: “This is for sure. He did plagiarize.” “He copied way too much.”
However, Korean netizens are saying, “It’s nonsense.” “In this case, wearing cowboy hats would also be plagiarism.” “There must be thousands of horse dances in the world.”

PSY and His Continuing ‘Gangnam Style’ Legacy on Ellen

He is literally not stopping as if dancing on top of hot charcoal – it’s YG Entertainment‘s unpredictable singer, Psy,that has landed more media coverage than he ever expected for his sixth-half album release. Venturing to the States for a Korean star has been a rocky road with mixed reviews, but he has charted a different route – a route that he, doesn’t even tread on his own.
By the help of internet virality, his title track Gangnam Style has won millions of views and landed a proper contract deal in USA with Justin Bieber’s manager – something Drunken Tiger JK, who told us in May for a duet with the teen bopper star, didn’t get offered.
A few weeks back, singer Nelly Furtado has had a small rendition of the invisible horse-riding dance popularized by the song in her Manila concert. Ryan Seacreast gets a one one lesson. That is not, ultimately, an exclusive. Teaching outside of Katsuya in Hollywood and now presenting himself – politely – on Ellen DeGeneres’ show, Ellen, he teaches the mega pop star Britney Spears and the host Ellen herself on the dance move. Even Britney has Tweeted and popularize her own hashtag ‘#BritneyDoingGangnam‘. We will leave your ideas up for that but with this appearance, we should still be proud of his giddy face and giddy success for his giddy-up! dance. Keep on rocking your moves, Psy! Check out the video below of his appearance on Ellen:
