Park Yoo Chun and Han Ji Min are awarded with the Best Hallyu Actor Awards



The two main actors of Rooftop Prince, Park Yoo Chun and Han Ji Min, have been awarded with the Best Hallyu Actor and Actress Awards of the Seoul International Drama Awards 2012.
On August 30, the 7th Seoul International Drama Awards was held at the Korean National Theater in Seoul.
Park Yoo Chun was awarded with the Best Hallyu Actor Award and said, “It was lucky for me to work with Rooftop Prince. I want to glorify this moment to my father, whom passed away without watching the series, although I really wanted him to. I’ll work harder and become a better Park Yoo Chun, so please stay with me.” He showed tears when he mentioned his father.
Han Ji Min said, “I believe this award is given by many fans of the series who supported it with love. This award reminds me of staff who worked so hard on the set. I promise to become a better actress who seeks for improvement and growth.”
In addition to the Best Hallyu Actor Award, Park received The People’s Choice Award as well.

Song Hye Kyo feels more comfortable not wearing makeup



Actress Song Hye Kyo recently confessed that she likes to go around without makeup, and it feels strange to her when she wears it.
Through her photo essay titled Hye Kyo’s Hour which published on August 30, the star revealed her everyday life story like the secret of keeping her skin clear.
Particularly on the page with the subtitle “I don’t wear much makeup,” Song wrote, “I usually go around with bare face. Because I usually don’t wear makeup, people around me say that it feels strange when I wear it. So it occurs to me.”
She added, “I wear face mask everyday. This is the thing I do for my skin. I try to drink a lot of water and eat brunch. Sometimes I go to a skin care clinic.”
“I’m sleepaholic, but I often find it hard to fall asleep alone.”

Lee Min Ho is the most attractive cosmetics brand model



Actor Lee Min Ho was recently selected as the most attractive male celebrity in TV commercials for cosmetics brands.
The community portal site DC Inside carried out a survey on “The most attractive male celebrities in TV commercials for cosmetics brands, who makes women to open their wallets” from June 26 to July 3. As a result, Lee ranked first.
On July 4, DC Inside reported Lee received 17,532 votes (38.9%) out of total 45.049. Since Lee was selected as a model for Innisfree in February, he’s been active as a cosmetics brand model in and out of Korea. Before Innisfree launched the brand in China, Lee shot a social movie called “Cho Ryun” under the concept of “Anyone can be Lee Min Ho’s first love.” As soon as it was released, many people visited the site to watch the movie. The people were too many that the server was down several times.
Kim Hyun Joong ranked second, receiving 14,117 votes (31.3%). Kim has been working for The Face Shop as a domestic and overseas model for two years since September, 2010. Kim solidified his status as a model for The Face Shop that there’s a BB cream named after him.
Lee Seung Gi ranked third, receiving 3924 votes (8.7%). With the launching of the cosmetics brand The Saem in 2010, Lee started working as a model for the brand. He’s highly praised for improving brand recognition of The Saem.
Besides, Jang Keun Suk (Nature Republic), Super Junior’s Siwon (Mamonde), and TVXQ (Missha) also ranked.

Kim Beom to release his first album in Japan



Actor Kim Beom will release his first Japanese album in June.
On May 10, Kim’s agency, King Kong Entertainment, said, “Kim will release his album in Japan in June. It will be his first regular album.”
The agency added, “Kim released his single in Japan last year but he has never released his regular album before. The album, however, doesn’t mean that he will become a singer. It’s just to thank his Japanese fans for supporting him a lot.”
Kim proved that he is a talented actor by appearing on the TV series Padam Padam… His and Her Heartbeat Sound, which went off air in February.

Hyun Bin sighted in trendy part of town



Just one day after it was revealed that actor Hyun Bin was on vacation from the compulsory military service in the Marine Corps, the star has been spotted shopping in Apgujeong, southern Seoul.
The actor was dressed down and incognito, sporting sweatpants, a hooded shirt and a hat as he made his way around the upscale neighborhood, best known for its trendy boutiques.
Various pictures entitled “Hyun Bin Apgujeong” began appearing online from May 8 and the 29-year-old entertainer was captured on camera a day earlier, looking at bags at a store.
According to the source who uploaded the pictures of the star, Hyun Bin was out shopping for his parents for Parents’ Day which falls on May 8.
“What a lovely son,” said one netizen while others praised him for having maintained his good looks despite rigorous training in the Marines.

Who is the cutest star ever?


Since MBC’s sitcom High Kick 3 became popular, stars are using the ‘Bbooing Bbooing’ pose from the sitcom as well.
Many stars are uploading pictures of themselves posing ‘Bbooing Bbooing’ on their Twitter or me2day accounts. This proves that the sitcom is popular among stars too.
On March 13, Big Bang’s G-Dragon posted a picture of Seungri posing the upgrade version of ‘Bbooing Bbooing’ on his me2day account.
Yeo Jin Goo, who appeared on MBC’s series The Moon Embracing the Sun, posed ‘Bbooing Bbooing’ and f(x)’s Sulli and Amber also took a self portrait posing the same pose.
Kim Yoo Jung and Jung Il Woo, who also appeared on MBC’s series The Moon Embracing the Sun, and T-ara’s Ji Yeon also posed for the camera.

Lee Seung Gi and Ha Ji Won change into royal family members


Lee Seung Gi and Ha Ji Won have changed into royal family members in the poster of MBC TV’s new drama series The King 2 Hearts.
On March 7, Kim Jong Hak Productions released a poster of The King 2 Hearts.
The King 2 Hearts is a love story between Kim Hang Ah (Ha Ji Won), a drill sergeant of the North Korean special forces, and Lee Jae Ha (Lee Seung Gi), a reckless, arrogant prince of South Korea. Based on an imaginary setting that South Korea is a constitutional monarchy, they go through prejudice against each other, the boundary between the two countries, and their social status to achieve love.
In the poster, the mixed feelings that the two characters have toward each other in the series are clearly shown.
According to reports, Lee and Ha impressed the crew with their perfect teamwork at the poster shoot on February 14. Without taking much time, they created perfect shots. The crew praised them saying, “This couple will surely make a hit in the first half of 2012.”
Kim Jong Hak Productions says, “Lee Seung Gi and Ha Ji Won satisfied the crew with their perfect teamwork from the poster shoot. Like the poster of Ha Ji Won as a pure goddess and Lee Seung Gi as an attractive prince, The King 2 Hearts will be a well-made drama series that will satisfy the viewers.”
The King 2 Hearts is directed by Lee Jae Gyu and written by Hong Jin Ah, who also made Beethoven Virustogether. It stars Lee Seung Gi, Ha Ji Won, Yoon Jae Moon, Lee Yoon Ji, Jo Jung Suk, Lee Soon Jae, and Yoon Yeo Jung.

Kim Soo Hyun and UEE are a flower boy and girl for graduates





Graduates, who are graduating from their schools in February, said that they wanted actor Kim Soo Hyun and After School’s UEE to give them flowers for their graduation.
Creek & River Korea Co., Ltd. and Media Tong did a survey starting on February 8 through 20 asking 547 graduates, “Who do you want to receive flowers from among entertainers when you graduate?” On February 22, they announced that Kim and UEE ranked first in each male and female ranking.
Song Joong Ki, Lee Seung Gi, Yoo Ah In, SNSD’s Yoona, IU, Shin Se Kyung, and Shin Min Ah were listed on Top 5 list.
The companies also did a survey asking, “What do you want to do the most after graduating school?” As a result, 52.6 percent of respondents said that they want to be employed by a large corporation.

SNSD gives a great comfort to actor Lee Joongi in the military




Actor Lee Joongi pointed SNSD out as the greatest comfort during his military service.
On February 16, an event was held to celebrate Lee Joongi to be discharged from his military service in downtown Seoul.
On the day, when asked what has been the greatest comfort during his two-year military service, he said, “I want to thank all of SNSD’s members.”
“In the military, the most favored girl group is SNSD, right followed by A Pink and 2NE1. Especially new recruits are concentrating on such girl groups to distract themselves from the unfamiliar military life.
The event was packed with people, attracting about 2,000 fans and 100 reporters.

Who’s better, actor Jang Geun Suk or comedian Kim Kyung Jin?




Comedian Kim Kyung Jin parodied photos of hallyu star Jang Geun Suk and made everyone laugh hard.
On February 5, Kim tweeted pictures of Jang and ones of himself parodying the super star with the comment, “Who is more metrosexual, super Jang or super Kim?”
Jang Geun Suk is one of the ultimate fashion icons among male celebs, and is causing a sensation in Japan, dubbed as “Super Geun.”
Metrosexual is a term which describes a guy who puts in a lot of effort to improve his appearance.
In the picture, Kim bares his upper body and copies Jang’s hairstyle, pose, and almost everything he could.
Apart from this parodied photo, on February 3, Kim drew a lot of attention with a photo parodying Won Bin, and gave us a big laughter.

Kim Soo Hyun provides 150 pizzas to staff members: “Great gifts from a king!”




Actor Kim Soo Hyun has cheered his staff members up with pizzas.
On February 2, Kim, on the set of the drama series The Moon Embracing the Sun, provided the staff members and other cast members with pizzas to cheer them up because they’ve had a hard time shooting all night long in the cold weather.
By providing the staff members and other cast members with pizzas that have just been baked, he increased the temperature of the set.
A staff member on the set said, “We were exhausted by shooting all night long for a few days, but we had a great time eating the pizzas the King has provided to us.”
The tenth episode of MBC TV’s drama series The Moon Embracing the Sun, which aired on February 2, displayed average viewer ratings of 37.1% (according to AGB Nielsen Media Research) and has become a drama series the nation loves.
