KARA ranks first in 2 categories on the Oricon chart

Girl group KARA recently ranked first in 2 categories on the Japanese Oricon chart for the first time as a foreign artist.

On March 6, KARA’s agency, DSP Media said that KARA’s DVD and Blue-ray disc, KARA Best Clips Ⅱ & Shows ranked first on the Oricon DVD chart and Blue-ray disc chart.

KARA is the first foreign artist in Japan who ranked first on the Oricon DVD chart and Blue-ray disc chart at the same time. Only 4 Japanese signers, including, Amuro Namie, AKB48, Mr. Children, and Radwimps have ranked first on the charts.

KARA’s first DVD, KARA Best Clips, which was released last year, also ranked first on the DVD chart. As a result, both KARA’s DVDs took first place on the Oricon chart.

KARA Best Clips Ⅱ & Shows includes a music video for KARA’s Japanese single “Jet Coaster Love,” which ranked first for the firs time among KARA’s singles. A video of KARA’s fan meeting, which was held in August of last year, is also included.

KARA will start performing their 6th Japanese single Speed Up Girl’s Power this month.
