JYJ makes Hallyu history in South America

Boy group JYJ, composed of 3 boys, including Kim Jae Joong, Park Yoo Chun, and Kim Jun Su, will hold their first exclusive concert in South America as Korean singers.
JYJ will hold their exclusive concert on March 9 at Teatro Caupolican in Santiago, Chile, and on March 11 at Explanada Sur del Estadio Monumental in Lima, Peru.
Both places are well known as venues where huge pop stars have held their concerts. Legendary heavy metal group Korn and X-Japan have held their concerts at Teatro Caupolican and Britney Spears, The Black Eyed Peas, and Avril Lavigne, all held their concerts at Explanada Sur del Estadio Monumental, the second largest football stadium in South America.
B2ST, 4minute, and G.NA from Cube Entertainment recently held their brand concert ‘United Cube’ in Sao Paulo, Brazil, but this is the first exclusive concert for a Korean singer or group.
JYJ is receiving an explosive response in South America and the group is especially popular among people in their teens to their 20s.
Many media outlets from Chile and Peru are paying a lot of attention to JYJ’s exclusive concert.
Media outlets from Chile, including Mega News and La Tecera, reported on JYJ with the title, “The First Korean Concert in South America.” They introduced the group as a world famous boy group who has worked with Kanye West and Rodney Jerkins.
Frecuencia Latina, a major broadcaster from Peru, introduced the group through their new program Punto Fianl in January with the title, “Pop Coreano en Lima (Korean Singer Comes to Lima).” They also reported on the group’s ticket sales for their concert in Peru.
An anchor for the news program said, “JYJ has an enormous following in Peru. They are very popular on and offline.”
