SS501′s Kim Kyu Jong will join the army on July 23.

Entering the Jeonju 35th recruit training center on July 23, Kim will receive basic military training for four weeks and do alternative service as a public service worker.

Kim was exempted from military service as a hepatitis B carrier at first, but the military service act was recently amended and he got categorized into a public service worker group.

As a first member of SS501 who joins the army, Kim will say good-bye to his fans shortly before entering the recruit training center.

Having been active in show programs, drama series, and musicals, Kim released his last EP, “Meet Me Again,” before joining the army on July 18.

SS501′s Kim Kyu Jong has released his final MV My Precious One before his military enlistment of two years.

The singer will be officially beginning his mandatory military service on July 23rd. Before that, he released his 2nd mini-album, Meet Me Again, which is a gift to his fans who will wait for him patiently for two years.

His MV My Precious One is a gift to fans and shows him hanging out with an unidentified female, who supposedly encompasses all his female fans. He spends quality time with her, such as eating and shopping with her.

SS501′s Kim Kyu Jong will join the army on July 23.

On July 2, B2M Entertainment, Kim’s agency, reported Kim will enter the recruit training center of the 35th division in Jeonju on July 23.

Kim will have a basic military training for four weeks and do alternative service as a public service worker for two years.

Kim was originally exempted from the military service because he was a hepatitis type B carrier. However, the the military service law was recently reformed and he got classified as a public service worker.

Kim’s agency says, “There’s no special schedule for Kim until he joins the army. Before he leaves, he will release his own song for his fans as a gift.”

On June 29, Kim went to Kim Hyung Jun’s comeback showcase, which was held at AX Korea, and showed off his friendship with him.

Kim says, “I decided to join the army after consulting with other SS501 members. I’ll finish the military service quickly and fill the empty spot while other members are in the army.”

Kim is the first SS501 member to join the army. Kim Hyun Joong, Heo Young Saeng, Park Jung Min, and Kim Hyung Jun are currently represented by all different agencies.

Kim debuted as a member of SS501 in 2005 and also released a solo album. He attracted attention through the musical Princess Hours and TV Chosun’s drama series Go! Mrs. Go!

SS501’s Kim Kyu Jong recently shared his feelings about joining the Army.

On June 29, Hu Yeong Saeng and Kim Kyu Jong made an appearance at Kim Hyung Joon’s showcase and mini-concert for the release of his second solo track “Escape” which was held at AX-Korea in Gwangjang-dong, Gwangjin-gu, Seoul.

Choi Goon asked, “Kim Kyu Jong is about to join the Army. What does it feel like?” Kim is to enter the Army on July 23 and go through a basic military training. After that, he will be serving as a public service worker. Choi added, “Please share a word or two before you leave,” and Kim first responded with a shy smile.

He said, “I have nothing much to say. I decided to join the Army after having a thorough discussion with the other members. Hyung Joon said that he will give his best on his activity so I won’t have to worry about him. I’ll be back soon, so I will be able to fill up the other members’ empty spots when they are serving in the Army,” and inspired laughter.

Last year, Kim Hyung Joon released his first solo track “My Girl” and worked as an actor in the KBS Drama’sMy Shining Girl and the SBS Plus Drama’s Love You. After a year and four months, he is finally back to his original career as a singer.

In the music video of his title track “Sorry I’m Sorry” appear Kang Ji Hwan, Lee Ki Woo, and Kim Hyung Joon himself. Director Cha Eun Taek was in charge of it and it is expected to be about 25 minutes long, in the form of dramatized road movie.

Kim Kyu Jong sings ‘Forever Love’ for fans on Valentine’s night

On 14th Feb, SS501′s member Kim Kyu Jong held a successful solo fanmeet in Taipei, Taiwan. He sang a total of 6 songs, one of which is ‘Forever Love’ a chinese song that is especially prepared for taiwan fans. Many fans were surprised by him and considered it as the biggest and the best valentine’s day present from Kyu Jong.
