EXO-K’s music video ranks 7th and receives over a million hits on YouTube

A music video for “MAMA,” SM Entertainment’s new idol group EXO-K’s title song from their first mini album, is receiving a lot of attention.

On April 8, the music video was released on YouTube and the video ranked 7th on the ‘Most Viewed Videos’ on YouTube on April 9.

The video also entered the Top 5 lists in today’s ‘Most Discussed Videos,’ ‘Most Liked,’ and ‘Top Favorited Videos.’ It also ranked first on the ‘Most Viewed Videos’ in Korean YouTube chart. This proves that the group is receiving international attention.

In addition, the two versions of the music video for EXO-K and EXO-M received over one million hits on YouTube.

EXO-K appeared in the April 8 episode of SBS’s Inkigayo and performed their title song “MAMA” and “History” from their mini album. Their powerful performance on their successful debut stage captured the public’s attention.

SM’s rookie groups, EXO-K, EXO-M to release a new album, titled “Mama”

The first single of EXO-K and EXO-M, titled “Mama,” is to be out on April 8.

On April 8, the high-profile groups are to release the song on domestic music sites, including iTunes, Melon, Olleh Music, and Bugs and on Chinese music sites, including China Music—EXO-K is to present with the song of Korean version and EXO-M with the song of Chinese version.

The long-awaited song was written by Yoo Young Jin, a K-pop hit producer, and features Gregorian chants and magnificent sound by an orchestra, giving the song a bewitching approach.

The lyrics tells the wishes that people find true love despite undergoing conflicts and lack of communication in the busy modern world.

The mini-albums include a total of six songs including “Mama”—one with EXO-K version and the other with EXO-M version. K-pop fans have been highly looking forward to hearing the group’s powerful and unique vocals.

SM’s rookie groups, EXO-K and EXO-M are to release the 2nd prologue single on March 9.
At midnight on March 9, two groups are to release the Korean version and the Chinese version of the 2nd prologue single “History.”
The prologue singles are being released to promote the rookie groups prior to their debut. While the first one, “What Is Love” is the song that emphasizes the group’s powerhouse vocals, the second one, “History” is impressive enough to feel their different charm with a powerful sound.
Additionally, the groups are causing sensation because each group releases the same album and make a debut in the two countries—EXO-K in Korea and EXO-M in China—at the same time. Prior to the release of their 2nd prologue song, each team is to reveal which member belongs to which team.
12 members of the two teams include Kai, Lu Han, Tao, Se Hu and others.
