Psy recently made a contract with the Island Def Jam Music Group, an agency that represents Mariah Carey, Bon Jovi, Justin Bieber, and Jennifer Lopez.
On September 4, a spokesperson for Psy said, “It’s true that Psy made a contract with the Island Def Jam Music Group. This contract is related to copyright of Psy’s albums to be released in all countries except for Korea and management for him. Psy will fly to LA on September 6 and talk about the details with the agency.”
Psy was planning to debut in Japan in October, but Justin Bieber’s agency asked him to work with it for a project. Psy will now debut in the U.S.
Psy will release “Gangnam Style” as a single. After that, he will promote himself and the single through TV shows and concerts in the U.S.
A spokesperson for Psy says, “Psy is still talking about doing a project with Justin Bieber. There might be a project he can do in collaboration with Bieber, but he will release a single first.”
Psy will attend the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards, which will be held in LA Staples Center on September 6.
