Total sales of TVXQ’s singles have topped 3.1 million in Japan

TVXQ set a meaningful record in Japan.
TVXQ topped the Oricon weekly single chart with their new single, “Android.”
Released in Japan on July 11, “Android” immediately topped the Oricon daily single chart. Topping the chart for six days, it also topped the Oricon weekly chart on July 17.
It’s the eleventh time for TVXQ to top the Oricon weekly single chart. With this single, the total sales of TVXQ’s singles have topped 3.1 million. It’s the largest sales volume for foreign singing groups.
On July 17, the Oricon reported, “TVXQ sold 152,000 copies of their new single in the first week of its release and topped the Oricon weekly single chart. With this, the total sales of TVXQ’s singles topped 3,104,000. It’s the largest sales volume for foreign singing groups in 10 years and 10 months since the American duo The Carpenters sold a total of 3,002,000 copies.”
A total of eleven singles of TVXQ topped the Oricon weekly chart. By topping the Oricon weekly single chart with “Still,” released in March, they also became the first foreign artist who topped the weekly single chart ten times in 45 years of the Oricon’s history.
TVXQ recently finished large-scale concert tour in Japan, attracting over 550,000 audiences, and a large-scale fan meeting, which attracted over 100,000 fans.
