SMTOWN Live Tour III in Singapore on 23 November 2012!

Super Junior, SNSD, BoA, big names like these just makes one tingle with excitement at the thought of their concert. And this time, Running Into The Sun(RITS) is granting the wishes of SMTOWN fans with the grandest ever concert to be organized in Singapore; SMTOWN Live Tour III. It will be held at The Float @ Marina Bay on 23 November 2012, Friday.

With a massive production value and 18,000 capacity; inaugurating the first concert at The Float @ Marina Bay – the world’s largest floating stage. This will also be the first time audiences will be able to set foot on the floating stage. Mosh pit ticket holders can expect to get as close as 10 feet away from the stage. SMTOWN Live Tour III in Singapore, will feature mega-popular K-pop artistes managed by SM Entertainment, one of South Korea’s biggest entertainment agencies. SMTOWN Live Tour III in Singapore will be a 4-hour long mega music extravaganza with special effects, pyrotechnics, flying stunts and water features, coupled with contagious dance moves, magnetic music and a stellar line up of artistes.

SMTOWN, the world tour with performances by various artistes from SM’s star-studded stable, has become a massively popular concert tour that has been staged in prestigious international arenas such as Madison Square Garden, New York to 15,000 in the audience and Zenith de Paris in France to 14,000 in the audience. To date, over half a million people across the globe have attended an SMTOWN concert since the first tour started in 1999.

As the Singapore stop for SMTOWN Live Tour III will be performed on a floating stage for the first time, the Singapore show will showcase a staging never before seen in other countries. The world’s largest floating stage at 120 metres long and 83 metres wide will also house mosh pits for over 5,000 fans to get into the thick of the action on stage and a heartbeat away from their favourite artistes.

“SM Town is truly the mother of all K-pop concerts and we’re madly excited to bring this to Singapore. As a massive concert that has only been staged so far at iconic international venues, we hope this concert will impact Singapore and the region to bring progressive music and quality productions here,” says Beatrice Chia-Richmond, Creative Director of Running Into The Sun.

SMTOWN Live Tour III has been performed in 2012 at Anaheim, United States; Hsinchu, Taiwan; Tokyo, Japan and Seoul, Korea. SMTOWN Live Tour III in Singapore will be the concert tour’s sixth stop and is expected to attract audiences from Singapore and around the region.

Tickets will be on sale on 29 September 2012 to 1 Oct 2012 for Samsung customers who produce any Samsung handset and OCBC Card members. Public sales will be from 2 Oct 2012 onwards.

SM Town Concert Line Up: SNSD, TVXQ, Super Junior…

Many people are eagerly awaiting the SM Town concert, which will be held on August 18.

On August 17, SM Entertainment said that they will hold the ‘SM Town Live World Tour III’ on August 18 at the main Sports Complex in Seoul.

Kangta, Boa, TVXQ, Super Junior, SNSD, SHINee, f(x), EXO, and more singers from the agency will appear at the concert and give various performances for the audience.

They will also MC the ceremony at the opening and announce the ‘Music Nation SM Town,’ which is a virtual nation making the world one with SM music.

The ceremony will make the audience even more exciting because fans from all over the world can perform with the artists.

A spokesperson for the agency says, “Since the fans are coming from all over the world, including, Korea, the United States, France, Great Britain, Germany, Italy, Sweden, Poland, Brunei, Australia, Kazakhstan, China, and Japan, the concert will be a global festival.”

SM Town a success in LA

SM Town’s third world tour kicked-off in Los Angeles on May 20 at the Honda Center in Anaheim with more than 12,000 local fans flocking to the K-pop event.
Artists such as BoA, TVXQ, SHINee, Super Junior, Girls’ Generation, f(x) and EXO performed one act after another, showcasing some of their greatest hits.

The bands shook things up by also singing songs out of the K-pop genre. Super Junior’s Kyuhyun and TVXQ’s Chagmin paired up to sing Bruno Mars’ “Just the Way You Are” while Girls’ Generation’s Jessica and Crystal of f(x) sang Katy Perry’s “California Girls” to the delight of fans.

Yet it seems that stars were not only found on the stage — there were some heavyweights from Hollywood among the screaming fans, as well.
Singer Quincey Jones was present as well as some 200 music producers and composers from The Underdogs, the producers behind Beyonce’s “Listen” and Chris Brown’s “Turn up the Music.”
Actor Simon Curtis, who had previously tweeted his interest in Girls’ Generation member Sooyoung, was also present at the show.

The SM Town Live World Tour III will make stops in Taipei, Taiwan on June 9, and Tokyo, Japan from Aug. 4 to 5 before making its way back home to Seoul on Aug. 18.

Which artists in SM Town ever regretted being a member of their agency?

Some artists represented by SM recently admitted ever regretting being a member of their successful agency.

The answers are f(X)’s Sulli, Krystal, SNSD’s Hyoyeon, and Gangta.

On April 30, the showcase for the movie I AM was held at the CGV Youngdeungpo, in Youngdeungpo, Seoul.

SM’s artists were faced to answer this question: “Have you ever regretted being represented by SM Entertainment.”

f(X)’s “Giant Baby”revealed, “I became a trainee when I was in fifth year in an elementary school, and started loving in a dorm. My family lived in Pusan, so I couldn’t visit my family often, and missed my mom so badly.”

Another f(X) member Krystal revealed, “I didn’t like living in a dorm and being not allowed enough free time.”

SNSD’s dancing queen Hyoyeon gave a similar reason to Sulli’s. “I felt similar to what Sulli felt. For me, commuting from home to work took 3~4 hours. It was pretty hard as I was little.”

I AM is a biographical film featuring SM Town’s artists and their years of efforts and behind stories in the process of becoming world-famous stars—the first Asian singers going on the stage at New York Madison Square Garden, the center of pop. The high-profile movie is out on May 10.

SM to hold hallyu concert in LA with MBC

MBC will hold a hallyu concert with SM Entertainment, one of the biggest entertainment agencies in Korea.

On April 3, MBC announced, “We will hold the ‘MBC Korean Music Wave in LA’ at Honda Center, Anaheim on May 20.”

Singers, including, SNSD, TVXQ, SHINee, and f(x) from SM Entertainment will attend the concert.

MBC said, “The concert will please the eyes and ears of music fans from all over the world with an upgraded stage and repertoire. The singers will also collaborate on high quality performances.”

The concert will air on MBC with the title, ‘MBC Korean Music Wave in LA – SM Town Special!’ Besides the concert, the backstage scene will also air on TV.

A documentary movie about SM artists will be released in May

A documentary movie about SM artists will be unveiled in May.

On March 21, SM Entertainment said I AM will be released in May and unveiled the first teaser preview and poster of the movie.

This movie is going to show the legendary concert of SM artists, titled SM Town Live World Tour in New York, which was held at the Madison Square Garden in New York, and SM artists’ dream and life outside the stage.

As the first teaser poster shows names of all SM artists, it increases curiosity about how each member’s story will be told in the movie.

A spokesperson for SM Entertainment says, “I AM was a UCC project event for fans from all over the world. It already received wide attention as several cover songs and cover dance videos were uploaded. Through this movie, SM Town artists’ efforts, passion, and dreams, placed in SM for several years to touch their fans, will be shown.”

Chicago Will Hold a Second Flashmob for an “SMTOWN Live Concert”

Mark your calenders, because they are coming!

Chicago is not letting anything get in their way for the chance to have an “SMTOWN Live Concert” in their own city. Fans in the American midwestern region are planning to perform another flashmob this summer as a sequel to their first flashmob in November of 2011.

June or July are the possible months the next flashmob is scheduled to take place. Super Junior, Girls Generation and SHINee will be proud to see their dedicated fans grooving to their hit tunes on their home soil.

SM Entertainment will hold audition in Chicago, IL on Feburary 20th.
