Arang and the Magistrate exported to Japan with huge price tag

MBC’s Wednesday-Thursday series Arang and the Magistrate will be exported to Japan with a very high price per episode.

On August 28, MBC announced, “The series has been sold to Japan with the highest price per episode ever. Global Business Department reported it on August 27 at the meeting.”

“The series broke the record held by The Moon Embracing The Sun’s, which previously set the highest sale price record. Other TV series, including Feast of the Gods and Mooshin, will also make huge profits.”

The series is based on the Arang legend from South Gyeongsang Province. It is a fantasy romance about magistrate Eun Oh (played by Lee Joon Gi), who sees ghosts, and a female ghost named Arang (played by Shin Min Ah), who lost her memory.

Lee Joon Gi releases his album on April 25

Actor Lee Joon Gi will release his third mini album Praise Me as a singer.

The album includes 4 songs and 8 tracks, including songs from his Japanese single Deucer, which ranked first on the Oricon daily chart in March. A mini photo album and special video will also be included.

The songs will be released online starting on April 25 in both Korea and Japan. Lee will show off his talent as a singer through the album, which includes a variety of genres, ballads, modern rock, and dance. Many famous musicians also participated in the making of the album.

Producer and songwriter Steven Lee, who has over 35 platinum gold records abroad, famous songwriter JP, who worked for Japanese diva Misia, Beau Evans, and Sean Alexander helped Lee to release the album.

Songwriters Choi Gap Won, Yoon Sa Ra, and Joy Factory also complemented on the album.

The title song “Praise Me” is written by Mad Soul Child, who worked with top K-pop singers, including, Kim Jong Gook, Jo Sung Mo, BMK, Tei, Lee Hyo Ri, Shinhwa, and Lim Jae Beom. The Song is an emotional ballad, including refined melodies and Lee’s sorrowful and sweet voice.

Lee will hold a fan meeting in Shanghai, China, on April 28. Then he will start shooting a TV series in mid-May.

Lee Joon Gi has over a million friends in China

Actor Lee Joon Gi is now one of the favorite actors of the Chinese as the number of his friends on Weibo recently exceeded a million. Weibo is the biggest social networking site in China. It was the shortest record that the number of friends on Weibo exceeded a million.

On April 13, Interactive Media Mix (IMX), Lee’s agency said, “I think it’s because he’s been constantly interacting with his fans and delivering news about himself to them for last two years.”

According to Lee’s agency, Lee opened his account on Weibo in this February after he was discharged from the service. He’s been constantly adding friends, and the number of his friends suddenly increased after he attended a music awards ceremony in China. Nearly 50,000 people are now visiting his Weibo account.

Lee says, “I’m very happy that the number of my friends on Weibo exceeded a million after I visited China. I really want to give the millionth friend a gift. I’ll often tell you how I’m doing with my life and career.”

Lee Joon Gi, “My army experience matured me”

Lee Joon Gi, who was discharged from military service, recently said, “My army experience matured me.”

On February 22, Lee talked about his feelings on returning to normal life. He said, “I think I have grown up a lot. I am mature now.”

Lee smiled and said, “When I held my fan meeting few days ago, I was very thankful for my fans coming to see me. I have changed but I don’t know how to express that.”

“On the day I completed my army service, I was afraid of using a cell phone because I was not allowed to use it in the Army.”

“I am grateful for everything. When you are in the Army, you are grateful for small mercies. Since I had to do things that I have to rather than doing what I want to do, I became less clear about myself. But when I came back to normal life, I realized that I have lots of things.”

“I released many things while I was in the Army. I was confused at first but soon I realized that I was holding on to too many things. I used to try to keep busy and was never satisfied. But now I can see that I have many great things in my life.”

“I met many singers including Park Hyo Shin in the Army. Since he is a singer and I’m an actor, we used to say each other let’s not invade each other’s territory. I’m currently considering my next job.”

Lee was discharged from military service on February 16.

SNSD gives a great comfort to actor Lee Joongi in the military

Actor Lee Joongi pointed SNSD out as the greatest comfort during his military service.

On February 16, an event was held to celebrate Lee Joongi to be discharged from his military service in downtown Seoul.

On the day, when asked what has been the greatest comfort during his two-year military service, he said, “I want to thank all of SNSD’s members.”

“In the military, the most favored girl group is SNSD, right followed by A Pink and 2NE1. Especially new recruits are concentrating on such girl groups to distract themselves from the unfamiliar military life.

The event was packed with people, attracting about 2,000 fans and 100 reporters.
